WHO WE ARE
We are Team Quantek, a group committed to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with Paraplegia or Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI). What started as an engineering project while at the University of Houston to volunteering at special disability events has become a vision with great pride to become leaders in medical device innovation. We are humbled to contribute our time and efforts to help this community in a positive way, and as well promote health benefits.
OUR PROTOTYPE
Our Wheel-Driven Exoskeleton (IQ 3.0) will enable individuals with Paraplegia or Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI) to independently stand upright and have mobility. The user can conveniently strap and enter their legs into the device while sitting on a chair or bed edge, then it will lift the user from a "sitting" to a "standing" position. Once upright, the user will have multi-directional ground movement control through the use of a joystick. The device is equipped with safety features to control speed and user tipping.
IQ 3.0
Benefits
The IQ 3.0 would help provide great health benefits such as prevention of pressure sores, blood flow augmentation to legs, and reduction of spasticity.
Not only will IQ's device increase health benefits, but also potentially increase self-esteem and social interaction with greater height limits and eye-level views; as well reducing healthcare and living expenses.
